How to Clean and Maintain Your TankUpdated 15 days ago
When to Clean Your Tank
- Every time you change your coil.
- When switching between significantly different e-liquid flavors (especially from strong flavors like menthol or cinnamon).
- If your tank has been sitting unused for an extended period.
- If you notice off flavors, reduced performance, or increased leaking.
- As a monthly maintenance routine regardless of the above.
Quick Rinse (For Routine Cleaning)
- Empty any remaining e-liquid.
- Disassemble the tank — separate the glass, base, and top cap.
- Rinse each piece under warm running water for 30–60 seconds.
- Shake off excess water.
- Dry each piece thoroughly with a paper towel.
- Let air dry on a paper towel for 1–2 hours until completely dry.
- Reassemble and install a new coil.
Deep Clean (For Stubborn Residue or Flavor Ghosting)
- Disassemble the tank completely.
- Fill a bowl with warm water and let the tank components soak for 30 minutes.
- For very stubborn residue, add a small amount of unflavored vodka or clear grain alcohol to the soaking water — it helps dissolve e-liquid residue. Rinse very thoroughly afterward.
- Use a small bottle brush or cotton swab to clean the chimney and threads.
- Rinse all components thoroughly under clean water.
- Dry and air dry completely — at least 2 hours, overnight if possible.
O-Ring Maintenance
O-rings are the small rubber seals at each connection point. During cleaning, inspect them for cracks, deformation, or stretching. Apply a tiny amount of food-grade glycerin (VG works) to o-rings periodically to keep them supple and prevent cracking. Most tanks come with replacement o-rings in the packaging — keep these safe.
Glass Replacement
Tank glass gets scratched over time and can crack if dropped. Most tanks use standard glass that can be replaced. Contact us at [email protected] with your tank model and we'll help you find replacement glass if needed.
