My Device Won't Fire — No Vapor or No PowerUpdated 15 days ago
Start With the Basics
Before anything else, run through this quick checklist:
- Is the battery charged? Connect to a charger and let it charge for at least 30 minutes before trying again.
- Is the device turned on? Most devices require 5 rapid clicks of the fire button to turn on or off.
- Is there a lock or child safety mode enabled? Check your device manual for how to disable it.
- Is the coil or pod properly seated? Remove and firmly reinsert it.
For Pod Kits (SMOK, Vaporesso, Aspire, GeekVape)
- Remove the pod and check the contacts at the bottom — wipe them clean with a dry cotton swab.
- Check that the coil is fully clicked into the pod before reinserting.
- Try a different pod if you have one available.
- Some pod kits have a draw activation sensor — make sure the airflow isn't blocked.
For Box Mods and Advanced Devices
- Check the battery — remove and reinsert it, making sure the contacts are clean and the wrap isn't torn.
- Try a fresh fully charged battery.
- Check for a short circuit warning on the display — if showing, remove the tank and recheck your coil.
- Make sure the 510 connector is clean and making proper contact.
- Check the atomizer resistance reading — if it shows "No Atomizer" or "Check Atomizer" the coil or tank connection is the issue.
For Disposable Vapes
- If it's a rechargeable disposable (OXBAR, Lost Mary, Fruitia x Fifty Bar) — charge it via USB-C for 30–60 minutes first.
- Make sure the mouthpiece cover or sticker has been removed.
- Try a slow steady draw rather than a sharp puff — most disposables are draw activated.
- If the indicator light flashes rapidly, the battery is dead or the device is defective.
