Device Is Spitting or GurglingUpdated 15 days ago

What Causes Spitting and Gurgling?

Spitting is when hot droplets of e-liquid are ejected into your mouth from the mouthpiece. Gurgling is the bubbling sound that usually accompanies it. Both mean your coil is flooded with more liquid than it can vaporize.

Fix 1 — Flick the Device

Hold the device with the mouthpiece facing down and gently flick your wrist downward a few times. This dislodges excess liquid from the coil. Follow up by blowing gently through the mouthpiece (with a paper towel at the other end) to push the excess liquid out.

Fix 2 — Take Slower, Gentler Draws

Drawing too hard floods the coil with more liquid than it can handle. Take slower, more controlled draws instead of sharp forceful pulls.

Fix 3 — Increase Your Wattage Slightly

A wattage that's too low won't vaporize liquid fast enough, causing it to pool in the coil. Try increasing your wattage slightly within the coil's recommended range.

Fix 4 — Check Your Fill Level

Overfilling a tank pushes too much liquid into the coil under pressure. Never fill above the max fill line and always leave a small air gap.

Fix 5 — Replace the Coil

A coil that's been saturated too many times or is past its lifespan can no longer wick and vaporize efficiently. If the above fixes don't help, a fresh coil is the answer.

Fix 6 — Check for Condensation in the Chimney

Vapor can condense into liquid inside the chimney (the tube above the coil) and drip back down. Use a thin cotton swab or rolled paper towel to absorb the condensation from the chimney.
