Weak Vapor or Poor PerformanceUpdated 15 days ago

Why Is My Vapor Weak?

Reduced vapor production is usually a sign that something in your setup needs attention. Here are the most common causes and fixes.

Cause 1 — Dead or Low Battery

A battery that's running low produces less power, which means less vapor. This is the first thing to check.

Fix: Charge your device or replace the battery. If vapor production improves after charging, the battery was the culprit.

Cause 2 — Coil Needs Replacing

As coils age, they become less efficient at vaporizing liquid. Reduced vapor is a key sign the coil is on its way out.

Fix: Install a fresh coil and prime it properly before use (let it sit for 5–10 minutes after filling).

Cause 3 — Wattage Set Too Low

If your wattage is set below the coil's recommended range, it won't heat efficiently enough to produce thick vapor.

Fix: Check the recommended wattage printed on your coil and increase your device's wattage to the middle or upper end of that range.

Cause 4 — Blocked Airflow

If the airflow on your tank or pod is restricted, vapor has nowhere to go and you'll get a tight, weak draw.

Fix: Check the airflow ring or slots on your tank — make sure they're open to your preferred setting. Clean any e-liquid buildup from the airflow holes.

Cause 5 — E-Liquid Too Thick for the Device

High-VG liquids are thick and work best in sub-ohm tanks. In pod systems or mouth-to-lung devices, they can restrict wicking and reduce vapor.

Fix: Use a thinner, more balanced PG/VG e-liquid in pod systems. Our standard SmokEjuice line is optimized for all device types.

Cause 6 — Tank Running Low

When a tank or pod is nearly empty, the coil can't wick efficiently, leading to reduced vapor and potential dry hits.

Fix: Refill your tank or pod before it gets below 25% full.
